Dusan Vlahovic transfer to Aston Villa: Juventus director finally speaks on strikers future amid Chelsea and Bayern Munich interests

Latest Aston Villa transfer news from BirminghamLive brings you the latest on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and his links to Villa Park amid interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich

It looks set to be a busy transfer window for Aston Villa this year as Unai Emery continues to put his own stamp on the squad.

The club are on the verge of qualifying to play European football next season, although they need a win against Brighton and Hove Albion in their final game of the season to make sur that that is the case. But whatever happens, it seems that Villa have ambitious plans when the summer window opens.

They have already been linked with a number of players, including Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, although they could face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

The forward has struggled to fit into the system deployed by Massimiliano Allegri this season, leading to speculation that his future could lie away from the Italian giants.

Villa re among the teams to be linked with an interest. With that in mind, here’s the latest on the striker’s future and a possible move to Villa Park.

Juventus stance outlined

Juventus director Calvo has outlined the club’s clear stance on a possible summer transfer for Vlahovic this summer, in what could be a blow to Villa’s hopes of signing the striker when the transfer window opens.

“The rumors are uncontrollable, but the market hasn’t started yet,” he said on Monday night (via Sky Sports).

“Dusan is not for sale, we are satisfied with the commitment he puts in, then in life we can always do better.”

Chelsea join the race

Italian football agent Massimo Brambati has said that Chelsea have entered the race for Villa target Vlahovic.

The striker has scored 14 goals for Juventus this season and has been linked with a summer transfer away from the Italian club, who are in turmoil off the pitch.

Brambati told TMW Radio, via Sky Sports: “There are three teams that showed up. In my opinion, Juve will take these offers seriously.

“All of them have an important profile, because they’re Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.”

‘Not dismissing’ Villa

Those close to Vlahovic are reportedly “not dismissing” talk of a move to Villa Park this summer, though Unai Emery’s team are said to not be at the front of the queue.

Journalist Graeme Bailey has told the Talking Transfers Podcast : “They (Villa) are looking at this calibre of players now. Vlahovic, when I’ve spoken to people near him, they’re not dismissing the Villa link, but they’re not saying they’re favourites.”

The stats…

Vlahovic has scored 10 goals in 26 Serie A appearances for Juventus this season, assisting another two.

He has also netted three in eight Europa League games, with another early in the Champions League.

He has three bookings to his name, but no yellow cards.

€ 100m euro chase

It was reported in early May that Villa are eyeing a €100million double swoop for Dusan Vlahovic and Barcelona’s Ferran Torres.

Vlahovic joined Juventus from Fiorentina last January in a €80million, and has scored goals for his new team. Juve are likely to sell, however, because of the troubles the club have been facing off the pitch and in their boardroom.
