Dutch reporter Marcel Van DER Kraan has revealed Liverpool and Manchester united will battle Tottenham over 22-year-old star midfielder

Dutch reporter Marcel van der Kraan has revealed that Liverpool and Manchester United could battle Tottenham for Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu this summer.

Kokcu has been in sensational form in the middle of the park for Feyenoord this season and his consistent displays are one of the key reasons why Arne Slot’s men are on course to lift the Eredivisie title.

Unsurprisingly, the 22-year-old’s performances have not gone unnoticed in England, with The Daily Mirror reporting last month that Tottenham had sent scouts to Rotterdam to watch the midfielder in action.

However, the publication remarked that Spurs were not alone in their admiration for the Turkish international, with several of their Premier League rivals said to be keeping an eye on the player.

This information has now been confirmed by Van Der Kraan, who named Liverpool and Man Utd among the clubs who have watched Kokcu in action at De Kuip this season.

When asked about the Feyenoord midfielder, the journalist said on De Telegraaf ‘s Kick-Off podcast: “I also think that more and more top clubs are looking at him.

“In recent weeks, the stands at Feyenoord have been filled with scouts from the top six of the Premier League.

“Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Liverpool; everyone had scouts. I think the battle for Kokcu’s signature will be very interesting.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Kokcu has certainly shown plenty of promise and I expect several clubs from across Europe to vie for the midfielder’s signature this summer.

However, players signed from the Eredivisie often struggle to replicate similar performances in the Premier League.

At the very least, they take a year or two to get adjusted to English football, which would not be ideal for Spurs as we are in need of readymade reinforcements.
