“Horrific injury”Micky van de ven story behind his leg scar could make his Tottenham comeback one of the greatest eve

Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven faces a possibility of a reinjury from his hamstring issues despite returning, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that hamstring setbacks have the highest risks of reinjury so the club physios will be monitoring him carefully.

After returning to action against Manchester United on 14 January, the 22-year-old limped off before 90 minutes, but then quickly allayed fears stating on Sky Sports that it was a cramp on the calf. [Independent]

Discussing the state of play with van de Ven exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “There are significant chances of reinjury as hamstring injuries have the highest risk of reinjury for footballers so there’s always that possibility.

“He was limping off in his first game returning from an injury and that’s never a good sign.

“However, he played down any injury worries shortly after which is a positive but he’ll still be monitored carefully by the club physios.
