Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro earned praise from Stephen Kelly following his outstanding goal in the FA Cup third-round win over Burnley.
The 24-year-old Spurs defender broke the deadlock in the 79th minute with one of the few moments of real quality at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the night.
Porro won the ball back inside the Burnley half. He took a touch to steady himself and then let rip with an unstoppable strike into the top left corner.
Prior to the Spaniard’s goal, Richarlison had a glorious chance in the build-up. However, Burnley made a big mistake as they immediately gifted the ball back to Spurs.
Kelly, covering the match on Sky Sports News, was blown away by what he saw from Porro. He hailed the technique the player displayed in scoring such an outstanding goal.
“Absolutely sensational strike from Porro! Straight out of the top drawer,” the former Tottenham defender said, as transcribed by the Sky Sports website.
“Burnley were slow to come out and put pressure on him. It sits up as he hits it and the loop and dip is wonderful.
“But it’s the high position the full-backs have taken which allows him to go and pounce.”

Porro’s moment of brilliance for Tottenham, combined with Burnley’s first big mistake in the game, proved the difference between the two sides.
It wasn’t a vintage performance from Spurs, who were at risk of conceding very late on. However, they got over the line, and that’s all that matters.
The result sees Ange Postecoglou’s charges reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The draw for round four of the competition will take place on Monday at around 7:50pm. Spurs will be represented by ball number 7.
