Jamie Vardy has held nothing back as he released an X-rated statement after Leicester City’s Premier League relegation was finally confirmed.
Leicester were officially relegated from the Premier League following their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.
It was their 16th defeat in the past 18 games as the Foxes have recorded just 18 points this season.
After the result, Leicester stunned fans with their social media post in the wake of dropping out of England’s top flight.
Vardy led the line in Sunday’s league clash but failed to make a big impression up front.
This season, he has scored seven league goals in 30 appearances in the Premier League.
A day removed from their relegation, the veteran forward has taken to social media to apologise to Leicester fans in a strongly-worded statement on social media.
Vardy described this season as a ‘total embarrassment’ in a scathing assessment.
“At this point I don’t even know what to say,” he wrote.
“No words I have can ever express my feelings of anger and sadness with the way this season has gone. There are no excuses.
Collectively, as players and as a club, we failed. There is simply no hiding, and I refuse to entertain any suggestion of doing so.
“Having been at this club for so long, we’ve experienced so many highs and successes – and this season has been nothing but miserable and for me personally, a total embarrassment.
“It hurts, and I know you’re feeling it too.”
The 38-year-old concluded: “To the fans: I’m sorry. Sorry we haven’t performed and sorry we end the 2025 season with such a sh*t show.”
