MARCUS RASHFORD RECEIVED ATTENTION FROM TWO OF HIS FORMER MAN UNITED TEAMMATES AFTER SENDING A NEW MESSAGE TO ASTON VILLA FANS

The Villans continued their brilliant form across all competitions, losing just one of their last nine matches, but that one defeat came against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

With the second leg at Villa Park just around the corner, “momentum” is a word being thrown about a lot in the Midlands, and a 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, 12 April certainly helped build that.

Despite Marco Asensio missing two penalties for Villa, goals from Ollie Watkins, Donyell Malen and John McGinn saw the Villans take all three points away from St Mary’s Stadium.

Marcus Rashford fails to get on the scoresheet v Southampton

Taking to Instagram (14 April), Rashford simply wrote: “Momentum is building,” after Emery’s side made it four Premier League wins on the bounce ahead of their crucial Champions League tie.

Man United pair Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro both liked the post, as did Villa stars Emi Martinez, Youri Tielemans, Tyrone Mings and Morgan Rogers.

Unai Emery can add superstar to Aston Villa squad this summer

It is uncertain exactly where Rashford will end up once his Villa loan spell ends, especially given how much it might cost a club to sign him permanently this summer.

The supporters, of course, have fallen in love with the England international, with few arguing against him putting pen to paper on a contract before he returns to Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Villa fans are also desperate for Asensio to stay permanently ahead of next season, with the Spaniard notching eight goals and an assist since making his move from the Parc des Princes.

While signing both would be incredible this summer, the Premier League club might have to settle for just one due to wages, but that would not be frowned upon at all by the Villa Park faithful.
