Atlanta Hawks head coach Quin Snyder is under heavy fire from fans and analysts alike after what many are calling an “embarrassing” post-game interview following his team’s 121–105 loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
The defeat marks the Hawks’ fourth straight loss and comes at a crucial point in the season as the team struggles to stay in the play-in tournament picture. But it wasn’t just the performance on the court that caught attention it was Snyder’s tone, attitude, and comments during his post-game media appearance that sparked outrage among the Atlanta fanbase.
The Knicks dominated the game from the opening tip-off, never trailing once as they ran circles around a lackluster Hawks defense. Jalen Brunson led the way for New York with 32 points and 9 assists, while Julius Randle added 24 points and 11 rebounds. For Atlanta, Trae Young scored 26 points, but lacked support from his teammates, who collectively shot just 41% from the field.
The Hawks appeared disjointed and out of sync failing to make adjustments, offering no resistance in transition defense, and committing a series of unforced turnovers that allowed the Knicks to stretch the lead throughout the night.
Following the blowout loss, Snyder took to the podium, where reporters expected tough answers and accountability. Instead, they were met with vague responses, monotone delivery, and what many fans perceived as deflection.
“We’re figuring things out. The effort’s there, but execution takes time,” Snyder said, adding, “This group is still learning, and sometimes games like this happen. We’ll look at film, and we’ll be better.”
