Chris Sutton urges Celtic to keep hold of Greg Taylor
In his Daily Record column, Sutton has indicated Celtic should look to retain Greg Taylor and called out some of the unwarranted criticism the defender receives at the club.
He stated: “Then there was Greg Taylor. Alex Valle kept his place in the side at his expense but there’s no doubt it’s Taylor who is more comfortable in that inverted full back role.
Valle had some moments in the first half but Taylor really helped to get to grips with the game in the second and then he popped up with the crucial assist for the winner. I would like to see him sign a new deal at Celtic. Taylor gets some undeserved stick at times from a section of the support and, okay, there are moments when the Champions League can be a stretch for him.

Celtic need to come to a solution on Taylor’s contract
It goes without saying, Taylor’s Celtic contract situation needs to be sorted one way or another, but supporters are still none the wiser on the direction he could opt to go in.
Starting the campaign strong, the Scotland international has lodged five assists in 18 appearances, with his midweek contribution against Aberdeen the most vital yet.
However, there is still uncertainty over his future, and he is weeks away from being able to discuss a pre-contract agreement elsewhere.
Hopefully, an agreement of some form can be found, ending speculation over his next move after months of silence.
