JHON DURAN FINALLY MAKES HIS FEELINGS CLEAR ON UNAI EMERY LEAVING HIM OUT OF FIRST TEAM SQUAD

Jhon Durán has scooped Aston Villa’s Player of the Month award for September.

The striker earned 48% of the vote among Villa supporters following an impressive month in which he found the net on three occasions.

Durán started September with a stunning contribution as he stepped off the bench to score a spectacular long-range strike which secured a 3-2 victory over Everton at Villa Park – with the stunner nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month.
The Colombia international was a second-half substitute in our 3-0 UEFA Champions League triumph over BSC Young Boys, before Durán goal back on the goal trail by netting the third in our 3-1 success over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

His goalscoring form continued just days later as the 20-year-old bagged the winner from the penalty spot in our 2-1 victory at Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup – his fifth goal of the season.

Durán, who signed a new long-term contract with the club earlier this week, rounded off the month as a second-half substitute in our 2-2 Premier League draw at Ipswich Town.

On his Instagram story, he uploaded an image of the Aston villa squad, accompanied with the caption: “Wishing the boys all the best for the up and coming games.”

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has signed a new deal at Villa Park to keep him at the club until 2030.
The 20-year-old moved to Villa Park in January 2023 in a £18m deal from Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire, signing a five-and-a-half year deal until 2028.
The Colombian came close to leaving Villa in the summer after interest from Chelsea and West Ham.
But he remained in the Midlands and has scored six times so far this season, including in a 1-0 win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week.
Duran has scored winning goals against West Ham, Leicester and Everton in the Premier League so far this season.
The Colombia international was Emery’s second signing at Villa Park following his appointment in October 2022.
He has scored 14 goals in 56 appearances for the club, as well as one goal in 12 caps for Colombia.
