Lucas Bergvall is a star on the rise after making his big move to Tottenham Hotspur, but with this enhanced status comes the pitfalls of fame, like social media. After it was revealed fake profiles had been made on X claiming to be the teenage star, he has explained he is happy the issue has been resolved.
Tottenham handled the situation

He is one of the most exciting talents at Tottenham, and indeed, one of the brightest young players to come through from Sweden in recent years.

Bergvall agreed to join Spurs in January, turning down Barcelona in favour of the Lilywhites. But he had to wait until this summer to finally make the move over to London.

Now he is here it’s clear the 18-year-old is not just one for the future, but a player who can be a key part of Ange Postecoglou‘s squad right away.

But, Bervall’s newfound fame has already caused some issues, with fake Twitter/X profiles coming to light, with users claiming to be the Tottenham star.

Speaking to Aftonbladet (via SportWitness) about the situation, Bervall explained his genuine social media presence, and revealed he is glad the club got the matter under control quickly.
Asked if it affected him at all, Bergvall said: “Not really, actually. Tottenham solved it quickly. I know it’s not me, they know it too and have reported it.

“I saw that they had brought it up and they asked me if it was me. I also posted on my Instagram which is the only social media I really use. They saw that someone had posted some pictures and then they deleted it.”
A bright start for Bergvall at Spurs

Bergvall played a big part of Tottenham’s pre-season tour, and has maintained a good standing going into the season proper.

He’s featured in all three of Spurs’ Premier League matches so far this season, albeit as a substitute each time.

He is now hoping to make his competitive debut with Sweden, having been called up to the senior squad for the Nations League doubleheader.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s a weird situation, but one that was handled swiftly, thankfully. Social media is an odd place at the best of times, and we don’t need people impersonating young footballers, potentially harming their reputations.
