Tottenham Hotspur have had a mixed start to the new season.
They kicked things off with a disappointing draw against Leicester City and followed it up with a sensational win against Everton before suffering their first defeat of the season against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United on Sunday.
Things haven’t been that great for them and according to a report from London World, a new UEFA rule is all set to impact Tottenham in a massive way. The governing body for football in Europe have introduced a new rule to make football more affordable for away fans.
Apart from Spurs, other top English clubs will also be affected by the new UEFA ruling which has been confirmed this week. While fans who follow their clubs across Europe will be delighted by the news, it will be a financial setback for clubs competing in European competitions.
UEFA have confirmed that a new cap will be placed on away ticket prices for all three European competitions. This has come after a supporter group united to share concerns about the increasing prices of tickets. The fans will hugely benefit from the new rule as away tickets for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League will be sold at a set price.
Tottenham and Manchester United will be competing in the Europa League this season and away tickets for the competition are set at £33 per match. While it will have a huge impact on Spurs, it is considered to be a great decision which will help fans who travel across Europe to follow their clubs. With a new format in place and the number of away games all set to increase, it does seem to be a sensible decision from UEFA.

Leeds United new signing Manor Solomon believes that he has more to offer after an impressive debut at Elland Road.
Solomon joined Leeds United on a season-long loan from Tottenham. The forward was brought in after Leeds lost Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter to the Premier League. Summerville joined West Ham and Rutter joined Brighton after they activated his release clause.
Leeds United beat Hull City at home this weekend. Goals from Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph were enough to seal all three points at Elland Road.
Solomon provided the assist for the opener after some brilliant work down the left flank, before he put in a cross for Joseph to finish.

After the game, Solomon was in excited about returning to the pitch. He missed out on most of last season due to injury and only ended up playing five Premier League games.
Speaking to LUTV, Manor Solomon spoke about his next steps after providing an assist in his first game for the club:
“Quite a lot to take on. It’s been an intense week I would say. But I am happy to be finally here and happy to be back.
“It’s been a long time since I had an official game. I’ll need I think some time to get to my best because I had a tough season as everyone knows with my injury. Now we are going into the break and I am looking forward to playing with the national team and to come back and to continue from where we stopped.”
