Fabrizio Romano has provided some Tottenham transfer news, which should hook fans. He’s claimed that Tottenham are unhappy with Giovani Lo Celso’s current transfer conditions.
It might be hard to believe, but we have reached the final day of the summer transfer window. It feels like if you blinked, you missed the summer. Alas, Tottenham have until 11pm BST to complete any deals.
The consensus, though, is that most of transfer deadline day will be focused on player sales. From Tottenham’s perspective, they have already strengthened in key areas, with Ange Postecoglou proving efficient in his second summer transfer window.
But, at what stage is the Giovani Lo Celso deal and more importantly, why hasn’t he be sold by Tottenham yet?
Tottenham Transfer News: Fabrizio Romano issues Giovani Lo Celso update
According to Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Real Betis are in talks to re-sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham Hotspur. However, Spurs are unhappy with the current conditions of the deal.
So, transfer deadline day could revolve around Tottenham and Real Betis finding a compromise. After all, the situation is clear: Giovani Lo Celso HAS to leave Tottenham, for the sake of all parties.
It is likely that Real Betis are aware of this. They know their former player better than most and it’s clear that the bond between Lo Celso and Postecoglou is paper-thin.
Yesterday, the Spanish media was very critical of the role Ange Postecoglou played in Giovani Lo Celso’s stance to move away from Tottenham. Essentially, they think that Lo Celso is unhappy with the unmet promises by the Australian manager to grant him more game time last season.
Tottenham are right to make their demands clear. After all, they possess the rights to Lo Celso, so they can demand what they wish. Of course, Daniel Levy never needs any reminding to hardball.
That said, Tottenham must strike the right balance. They cannot step in the way of what is inevitable and necessary. Giovani Lo Celso has no future at Tottenham and so, he must be allowed to leave today.

that Tottenham Hotspur U21 captain George Abbott has joined League Two side Notts County in a season-long loan move.
The East Midlands side are currently 10th in League Two, with a win and two draws to kick off the season. Their last result was a thumping 4-1 victory at home to Grimsby Town last Thursday.
They are top of the League Two possession stats, with a whopping 68% average possession so far, so Abbott is going to a team that dominate the ball and he will get plenty of touches every game there.
They have also had the biggest chances in the league, with 11, so it is clear it is not pointless possession for possessions’ sake, and they look to get the ball forward and create chances as much as they can under manager Stuart Maynard.
