Tottenham are looking into if they can sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea and could bide their time to get the deal done.
Spurs really like Gallagher and have been encouraged by Chelsea that there might well be a chance they sign him in January.
Report over the weekend ave suggested talks have started over a deal for Gallagher. Of course, some journalists have since rebuked those reports.
However, interest in £50m rates callagher is there and gold has said a move could well happen late in the transfer window.
Tottenham could yet sign Conor Gallagher
Writing a lengthy piece about what might be next for Tottenham after their win over Bournemouth yesterday, Gold
And in his explanation, Gold says that should Spurs sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, then a move for Gallagher could be on later in the window.
“Reports of talks over signing Conor Gallagher from Chelsea are believed to be premature but Spurs will continue to monitor the situation with the 23-year-old and the Blues, who have to navigate the perils of financial fair play yet have also been linked with making a move for Todibo. If Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg does depart then Spurs could move for Gallagher later in the window if they sense a willingness from Chelsea to let a player go who would fit Postecoglou’s number eight role perfectly,” Gold
Spurs would be delighted with Gallagher for Hojbjerg
It’s quite obvious postecoglou want a new number eight in midfield and he doesn’t quite believe Hojbjerg can do the business.
juventus are trying to sign midfielder and that could open the door for business, as Gold says.
Right now, Tottenham fans would love it if they somehow managed to get a new deal for the ‘brilliant‘ Gallagher over the line.
Not only do they improve their own team with a player the manager craves, but they also get to take a homegrown star off a London rival.
That in itself would be a huge win in the window for Spurs and Gallagher would be welcomed with open arms.
