Spurs’ frustrating afternoon at the City Ground left their supporters enraged and many placed the blame on three starters. The main culprit in many fans’ eyes was Guglielmo Vicario, who had a moment to forget for Hudson-Odoi’s second, left dumbfounded as a cross beat him and found the far post.

The Italian goalkeeper’s woes continued amid a disastrous season, whose calamity partly helped Fulham to a 2-1 win against Frank’s side last month. But many also took aim at Rodrigo Bentancur, who hasn’t managed to hit the heights of the early stages of his spell in North London.

Richarlison’s topsy-turvy form has become too much of a liability, judging by fans’ response to a lacklustre outing against Forest. The Brazilian didn’t pose any threat, and his inconsistency is a real problem for his under-pressure manager.

Spurs fans have made clear they have seen enough and had enough of all three of them. One fan wrote on X:

“Richarlison, Bentancur, Vicario. Sick of watching more than any others.”

Another added:

“Vicario out. Porro out. Bentancur out. Richarlison out.”

One supporter said:

“Leave Frank, Vicario, Bentancur and Richarlison in Nottingham please.”

Another responded:

“Vicario OUT. Bentancur OUT. Porro OUT. Richarlison OUT. FRANK …”

This stance was echoed again:

“Alright that’s enough. Thomas Frank has to go. Richarlison has to go. Vicario has to go. Bentancur has to go. Cull it. Restart.”

“Bentancur, Vicario and Richarlison need to be removed from the club asap.”

Moving those three players on would be a signal of intent, but it seems unlikely given their status in Frank’s first team. But a rebuild feels necessary despite a busy past summer transfer window that has failed to reach expectations although the trio have been at the club for a significant period.

There’s only so many times Frank or even Spurs fans can stand by Vicario, and it’s clear that the Italian shot-stopper’s form has become a problem. He hasn’t looked the same since returning from a fractured ankle last season, putting in nervous, erratic performances that should put his status as number one in significant doubt.

Does Frank turn to Antonin Kinsky, who arrived in North London in the January transfer window? The Czech goalkeeper fared well for most of the opportunities afforded to him, including an impressive display in a 1-0 win over Liverpool in last season’s Carabao Cup.

But the 22-year-old feels too inexperienced to be thrown into such a problematic situation, and that’s why the upcoming transfer window might be the time for a proven Vicario replacement to be signed. Reports are suggesting the recruitment staff are on the lookout for a ‘world-class’ number one.

Richarlison in action for Tottenham Hotspur

As for Richarlison, it seemed likely he’d be exiting in the summer after falling out of favor under Frank’s predecessor Ange Postecoglou. But the Dane is a fan of the 28-year-old and has repeatedly confirmed that he is his preferred starting number nine.

The former Everton forward has managed six goals in 16 league games, which isn’t a bad return, but it’s his actual displays that have left much to be admired. His hold-up play is often lacking, and he doesn’t grab a game by the scruff of the neck, which is what Frank is crying out for from his beleaguered side.

Richarlison will have a year left on his contract next summer, which is the perfect time to cash in on the Brazil international. He has previously been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League and a potential transfer to a club from the Middle East could come in handy for the club’s finances.
