KIERNAN DEWSBURY-HALL REVEALS DRESSING ROOM REACTION TO IDRISSA GUEYE RED CARD

Everton star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has spoken about Idrissa Gueye’s red card following the win over Manchester United.
On Monday night, Everton travelled to Old Trafford as they continued their Premier League campaign against the Red Devils.
With 13 minutes on the clock, the match descended into chaos as Toffees midfielder Gueye was shown a straight red card by referee Tony Harrington.
Replays showed that Gueye had raised his hand during an altercation with teammate Michael Keane.On social media, the Premier League Match Centre explained: “The referee’s call of red card to Gueye for violent conduct was checked and confirmed by VAR – with the action deemed to be a clear strike to the face of Keane.”
Despite being down to 10 men, Everton stunned Old Trafford into utter silence when Dewsbury-Hall scored a brilliant goal from the edge of the area to make it 1-0 in the 29th minute.
At half-time, Ruben Amorim’s men were booed off, and the Portuguese reacted by throwing on Mason Mount at the start of the second period.However, the changes did not make a difference as Everton held on for a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
Speaking after the match, goalscorer Dewsbury-Hall was asked to comment on Gueye’s red card and he went on to reveal what the player and the manager said.
He told Sky Sports: “Idrissa has apologised to us at full-time, said his piece and that’s all he can do. We move on from it. The reaction from us, was unbelievable. Top tier. We could have crumbled but if anything, it made us grow.
“He [Moyes, at half-time] just said: that’s done now. We’ll deal with that another time. It was about keeping to the plan we had. He made sure we do the right things, continue what we’re dong. We can’t change that now, second half we continued to do that.”
When asked for his own reaction, Toffees boss David Moyes said: “I thought the referee could have taken a bit longer to think about it. I got told that the rules of the game that if you slap your own player, you could be in trouble.
“But there’s another side to it: I like my players fighting each other, if someone didn’t do the right action. If you want that toughness and resilience to get a result, you want someone to act on it.
Everton return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Newcastle United at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.”
