Lukas Nmecha’s arrival at Elland Road was confirmed on Sunday. The German striker will officially join the club on a free transfer next month. A deal for Udinese defender Jaka Bijol is also near completion; the Slovenian international will arrive in West Yorkshire in the coming days.Leeds are also advancing in talks to sign Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra. The French club’s President publicly revealed that the Senegalese midfielder could leave this summer.
Leeds United chase Serie A striker
Graham Smyth confirmed that the club would be in the market for another center forward even after signing Lukas Nmecha.
It looks like that player could be Lecce’s Nikola Krstovic. The Italian side are resigned to losing the 25-year old this summer after his performances in Serie A last season. Sky Sports Italy have reported that Leeds have made an offer for the striker, but are yet to reach a personal agreement with the player.
The report suggests that any possible deal lies with Krstovic. Because Leeds’ offer on the table is close to what Lecce are asking for, and all the Serie A side need to greenlight the deal is for the striker to agree personal terms.
Krstovic could be a great addition
It looks like the addition of Lukas Nmecha will not prevent the arrival of another striker. The German arrived on a free, so now the club can spend on another attacker. Krstovic looks like he fits the bill of what Leeds will need next season. The Serbian carried the goalscoring load of Lecce during their relegation battle.
He managed to contribute to 16 of the club’s 27 goals in the league. Which means he is experienced at carrying a team that are dominated for most of the game. The 25-year old takes a lot of shots, and gets a lot of touches in the box, making him a good fit for Daniel Farke’s sysem. If the fee is decent, Leeds could have found themselves a bargain.
