Patrick Bamford produced a lively cameo in Leeds United’s 1-1 draw against Luton Town on Saturday.
Leeds suffered another blow in the Premier League promotion race as they dropped two more points at Kenilworth Road on 5 April.
Daniel Farke’s men fell behind just 15 minutes into the game, courtesy of a goal from Isaiah Jones, and required Dan James to score a stunner to salvage a point.
The result has seen the Elland Road outfit drop out of the automatic promotion spots, with Burnley going atop with a 2-1 win against Coventry.

On an afternoon when several players failed to impress, Bamford made a case to be more involved in the final six games of the season with his 27-minute cameo.
Assessing the striker’s performance, Jon Newsome explained that he was “lively” and looked to cause the Luton defenders problems with his runs.The BBC pundit, though, wanted to see Bamford and Joel Piroe play together longer and feels it was “damning” that the Dutchman was replaced by Brenden Aaronson soon.Newsome went on to hit out at the United States international for his uninspired performance, blasting him for often giving away possession cheaply.
“When he came on, I thought Patrick looked really lively, he made loads of runs in behind, stretches the game”, Newsome said on BBC Radio Leeds (5 April, 2:43 pm).
“It was just a bit damning that Patrick came on at a time when Joel Piroe went off. They only played together for maybe five or 10 minutes.
“As soon as Brenden Aaronson came on, we saw there were two or three occasions he got possession in forward areas and just, I think I said it in commentary, hoicked it away, just gave the ball away, no idea what to do with it.”Leeds in El Colapso trouble
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game at Kenilworth Road, Benjamin Bloom said that he expects Leeds to claim all three points despite their recent run of form.
He warned that Leeds would be entering El Colapso territory if they dropped points against Luton, having already done so in four of their last five Championship games.
That is proving to be true as the Elland Road outfit are now out of the automatic promotion spots, meaning they risk having to participate in the playoffs again.
Last year’s playoff heartbreak will still be fresh in the minds of many fans, and they will be hopeful that the team can avoid a similar scenario this time.
