West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus has experienced a tough campaign so far this season.
Mohammed Kudus has bagged just three goals and two assists in 24 games for West Ham since the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
Those numbers are hugely disappointing, after the 24-year-old’s return of 14 goals and six assists in 45 outings for the Hammers last term.
Kudus has really struggled for form in general this season, but his relationship with ex-Hammers boss Julen Lopetegui certainly didn’t help matters.
It was claimed that Kudus and Lopetegui didn’t see eye to eye, and that’s putting it politely.
Things were never the same between them after the pair almost came to blows during West Ham’s draw with Brentford back in September.
And since then, rumours surrounding Kudus’s future at the London Stadium have been circulating.
Following Graham Potter‘s arrival at West Ham though, the Ghana international certainly seems happier than he was during Lopetegui’s reign.
However, it has actually been claimed that Potter could sell Kudus in the summer.
I just don’t see that happening unless a club activates his £85 million release clause.
If the Hammers manage to keep hold of the former Ajax man, I have a feeling that he could reach his full potential under the tutelage of Potter.
Mohammed Kudus makes admission about West Ham team ethic
Kudus hasn’t been anywhere near his best this season, but his performance away at Arsenal on Saturday gave us all hope that he could be set to return to his best.
He was unplayable at times and actually deserved a goal for his brilliant all-round display.
The Ghanaian spoke to reporters after the game, and lifted the lid on the game-plan that helped him and his teammates pick up three much-needed points against Arsenal.
Kudus highlighted the need for everyone to work together as a team, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“It was a very much-needed three points,” said Kudus. “It’s been a difficult season, but it’s one of the wins that we’ll never forget about.
“It was a tough game, but we were compact, very focused, and full of effort in getting the win, so I’m glad we got the three points.
“The job in defence was really tough. We played a very tough team, and we knew they were going to attack a lot, so we had to make sure the eleven players were focused on the task at hand, and everyone was excellent in doing their own duties.“
A Mo Kudus with an extra willingness to defend and play for the team could well be the complete footballer.

He has often been criticised for holding on to the ball for too long, and playing mostly with his eyes glued to the floor.
His defensive responsibility has been called into question as well.
However, his performance against Arsenal, and his subsequent comments after the game, proves that that’s very much not the case though.
Mohammed Kudus is a terrific talent, and if Graham Potter manages to keep him at West Ham, then he will go from strength to strength for us.
However, that will be a lot easier said than done.
