AXEL DISASI MOCKS ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER IN NEW MESSAGE AFTER LIVERPOOL ‘RED CARD’ STORM

Axel Disasi shared a controversial image of him grappling with Alexis MacAllister after Aston Villa’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool on Wednesday (February 19).

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former PGMOL chief, and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett believes Disasi should have seen red before the goal for appearing to lash out at Alexis Mac Allister.

The Liverpool midfielder wasn’t without blame, however, committing a “clear holding offence” for which Hackett slammed referee Craig Pawson.

Disasi, who joined Villa on loan from Chelsea in January, has played the full 90 minutes for two consecutive games as Unai Emery’s side remain winless in their last five Premier League games.

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 29th minute, capitalising on a defensive mishap between Disasi and Andres Garcia to score his 29th goal of the season.

Youri Tielemans bagged the equaliser in the 38th minute before Ollie Watkins gave the home side the lead in added time of the first half.

Disasi had been a bit-part player at Chelsea before joining Villa, starting 22 of his 26 games across all competitions, popping up with two goals, and providing two assists in his 1284 minutes of action.

The centre-back took to Instagram after the 2-2 draw with Liverpool, appearing to mock the controversial Mac Allister incident by sharing a grappling image of the duo, and saying: “We keep pushing forward!”

Emery’s side remain in contention for European football once the season ends despite their poor run of form, sitting in ninth with 39 points from their 26 games.

Villa will face Disasi’s parent club Chelsea in the late kick-off on Saturday (February 22) with both in desperate need of a win.
