Manchester United fans have taken to social media to react after an update was provided on Amad’s fitness.
Amad has been one of the few bright sparks in what has been a challenging season for the Red Devils, scoring crucial goals and earning praise for his performances.
Man United fans have praised Amad this season for his performances and especially after he signed a new deal back in December.
However, fans were left disheartened after Daily Mail journalist Chris Wheeler reported that the Ivorian “could miss the rest of the season after suffering ankle ligament damage in training.”
The news has sparked massive frustration among the fanbase, particularly as the club offloaded two forwards – Marcus Rashford and Antony – during the January transfer window without bringing in replacements.
With attacking options already limited, Amad’s potential long-term absence has led to widespread concern online as United’s squad depth continues to be tested.
Amad has been a key player for Ruben Amorim
Amad will be a major loss for Ruben Amorim if he is ruled out for the rest of the season, as he has been one of the team’s most dangerous attacking threats.
The winger has played a pivotal role, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in 36 appearances this season. He has also started a majority of those games with 17 starts in the Premier League this season.
His contributions have been vital, with crucial goals against fierce rivals Liverpool and Manchester City helping secure valuable points for the team.
Marcus Rashford eyeing new challenge at Aston Villa despite Manchester United fan calls
Rashford was keen to leave Man United in the January transfer window after tensions between him and Amorim escalated.
Since completing his move to Aston Villa, the England international has been making extra efforts to impress his new manager. Reports suggest Rashford even trained alone at Villa on a scheduled day off to work on his fitness and ensure he is at peak condition.
Despite the fallout at United, the Englishman was having a respectable season in terms of output before his departure, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. However, it became clear that he was not part of Amorim’s long-term plans.
With Rashford and Antony both leaving on loan in January, and Jadon Sancho joining Chelsea in the summer, United now find themselves severely lacking attacking options – making Amad’s injury even more concerning.
Fans reacted to the news by calling for Rashford to be recalled, with one supporter stating, “Relegation looms” while questioning whether the club has the option to bring him back. Another urged Amorim to “swallow his pride” and reinstate the winger to help ease the squad’s attacking crisis
