Celtic urged by fans to seal Jeffrey Schlupp deal after ‘record-breaking agreement’

Celtic Football Club’s recent loan acquisition of Jeffrey Schlupp from Crystal Palace has sparked significant attention among fans and analysts alike. Schlupp, a versatile 32-year-old capable of playing both left-back and winger positions, joined Celtic to provide depth following Alex Valle’s departure and amid anticipation of Kieran Tierney’s return in the summer.

Initially, some supporters expressed reservations about Schlupp’s signing, viewing it as underwhelming, especially since the club did not secure a striker to replace Kyogo Furuhashi, who transferred to Rennes. However, Schlupp’s performances have rapidly shifted fan sentiment. In a recent Champions League match against Bayern Munich, despite Celtic’s narrow elimination, Schlupp’s defensive prowess stood out. He won eight out of ten duels, made five interceptions, regained possession seven times, and completed nine clearances.

Fans have lauded Schlupp as a “warrior” and are advocating for the club to secure him on a permanent basis. Some even suggest that his consistent performances could make him an ideal rotational option alongside the anticipated return of Tierney.

As Schlupp’s loan agreement approaches its conclusion, the clamor among the Celtic faithful for a permanent deal intensifies. His adaptability, experience, and recent form have positioned him as a valuable asset, prompting many to believe that retaining him would bolster the squad’s competitiveness in forthcoming campaigns.
