The Villans have been one of the busier Premier League sides in the winter transfer window so far this month, with Aston Villa signing Donyell Malen in a £22m move from Borussia Dortmund.Furthermore, Yasin Ozcan is also set to join Aston Villa after a fee of £6.7m was agreed with Kasimpasa.
Despite these deals, Unai Emery is still looking for reinforcements as the Spaniard aims to drag Aston Villa higher than seventh in the Premier League – and sources have now informed TBR Football that Chelsea No.2 Axel Disasi is wanted.
Aston Villa enquire about Axel Disasi
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been told that Aston Villa have asked about the Frenchman, who Chelsea are looking to offload this month.
The central defender – who Chelsea signed in a £38.8m move from Monaco back in August 2023 – has struggled under Enzo Maresca so far this season, and seems surplus to requirements after Trevoh Chalobah was recalled from his loan spell at Crystal Palace.Juventus have also made contact to sign Disasi from Chelsea.
Sources add that Juventus are close to signing Randal Kolo Muani too – who was a target for Chelsea’s bitter rivals Tottenham this month.
We understand Oscar Mingueza was Aston Villa’s first choice and talks were held – but an agreement could not be reached – while there have also been discussions to sign Loic Bade from Sevilla too.
Chelsea No.2 Axel Disasi could replace Diego Carlos at Villa Park
We also understand that Fenerbahce are confident of signing Diego Carlos from Aston Villa before the February 3rd transfer deadline.
The Brazilian has made eight starts in the Premier League this season and five starts in the UEFA Champions League – so Emery clearly feels the need to replace the South American if he does leave for Turkey.
It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa have asked about signing Disasi on a permanent basis or on loan – although an approach has been made for the man born in Gonesse.
