LEICESTER CITY’S FIRST JANUARY SIGNING SET TO TOUCHDOWN AS DATE ALREADY FIXED: FANS ARE SHOCKED AS LEICESTER BOSS NISTELROOY CONFIRMS.

Leicester City are set to make their first signing of the January transfer window soon.

I’ve watched £12m star Leicester City are set to sign for 16 months, he’s perfect for Ruud van Nistelrooy

Ruud van Nistelrooy has only been in charge of the Foxes for a month but already seems to have decided multiple reinforcements are needed in the January transfer window.

A number of players have already been linked with Leicester City during the first few days of the winter window.

As is to be expected given they have already shipped 42 goals in the Premier League this season, centre-back seems to be one of the priority positions being looked at.

However, attacking reinforcements also look to be on the cards with reports this week claiming Leicester are rivalling Nottingham Forest for Petar Musa.

Now though, another centre-forward could be on his way to the King Power Stadium this month.

Leicester City set to sign Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough

The man in question is Emmanuel Latte Lath, who nearly joined relegation rivals Ipswich Town on August 30th, 2024 before Middlesbrough killed any chance of a move.

The Ivorian is receiving interest once more, however, with Leicester now said to be closing in on a transfer.

Journalist Alan Nixon, via his Patreon, claims that Leicester are ‘set to sign’ the striker from Boro in a £12m deal.

He states Latte Lath has been looking to secure a move to the Premier League for some time, with West Ham United having also shown an interest previously.

What Leicester City fans can expect from Emmanuel Latte Lath

The 26-year-old joined Middlesbrough from Serie A outfit Atalanta BC in August 2023.

I have since watched the centre-forward play for the Teessiders on a consistent basis and here’s what Leicester fans need to know about him.

Firstly, though perhaps not at quite the same level, Latte Lath has a very similar playing style to Jamie Vardy, especially in his younger years.

The two-time capped international is rapid and is a serious threat when playing off the shoulder of the last defender.

Latte Lath has been inconsistent at times since moving to the North East, including going nine games without a goal earlier in 2024/25.

However, that is largely because teams were able to negate his biggest strength. Boro are competing for a play-off place this season so some opposition, largely those at the bottom end of the second tier, will set up in a deep block against Michael Carrick and co.

Latte Lath really struggles in these types of games because as already mentioned, he’s at his best when he can utilise his pace to get in behind defences.

That shouldn’t be a problem at Leicester, however, given they’re fighting for survival and most sides will play a high line against them.

Latte Lath’s finishing is good, though not spectacular. He should thrive in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s system and if things work out, could be a long-term replacement for Vardy.
