Aleksander Isak took to social media to celebrate his Newcastle’s win and his hat-trick against Ipswich Town and received a “ridiculous” response from a teammate.
The Swedish international scored his first hat-trick as the Magpies demolished Ipswich Town 4-0 at Portman Road on Saturday (21 December).
He reached double figures for the season with 10 goals, trailing only Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.
The striker has been heavily linked with a move away, particularly to Arsenal, but Eddie Howe has declared he’s “desperate” to keep him [BBC Sport].
Isak took to Instagram to celebrate the victory, captioning his post: “Merry Christmas” as he held up three fingers in celebration.
Teammates were in awe of his performance, with Bruno Guimaraes commenting “World class” and Joe Willock calling him a “Ridiculous baller”.
Newcastle will struggle to keep high-scoring Aleksander Isak
Newcastle’s 4-0 win over Ipswich took them up to eighth place with 26 points, just one point behind Man City.
But it’s Isak who has been the standout performer this season. With strikes against Liverpool and Arsenal, he has accumulated 15 goals and assists in all competitions.
