“Cody” Rhodes, 35, passed away on Wednesday 16th October 2024 in Nashville, TN.
He was born in Johnson City, TN, on September 4, 1987.
Cody had a joy and love for baseball. He was also an avid football fan; he enjoyed playing as well watching the Tennessee Volunteers.
Cody’s work ethic and deep-seated humor was evident for anyone who met him. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in three years and graduated top 10 in his class from law school. He chose to commit himself to being the best he could in life. He loved to work on the Hill in Washington D.C., but always remembered his home in Tennessee.
He extended his best self to friends, determined to make them laugh or to encourage them, and cheered their successes. He loved his family fiercely and was a blessing to them. He loved his wife with all his heart. Cody loved to look toward the future and was always planning trips or checking houses online to renovate.
Cody loved the Lord and pursued God’s path for his life. His faith and commitment to God only grew during challenging times. He fought with determination at every turn, but prayed only for his family and friends–never himself.
Cody will be remembered as a humble and steadfast husband, son, cousin, and friend. He wishes all to take comfort that in heaven, we will see him again.
Those surviving include his wife, Keri Stophel Rhodes; parents, Gregory Harold Rhodes and Sheila Kay Dove Rhodes; parents-in-law, Gretta and Steve Emery; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A committal service will be held for Cody at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Eden-Greenwood Cemetery in Jonesborough. The Reverend Steven Harmon will officiate. Those attending are asked to gather at the graveside by 12:50 PM.

Ivar & Erik Return As The War Raiders On WWE Raw
Ivar and Erik made their Return on Monday’s edition of WWE Raw, scrapping their old Viking Raiders name and returning as the War Raiders.
Ivar and Erik faced off with Alpha Academy, ultimately picking up the win over Otis and Akira Tozawa to advance in the tournament to determine the number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles held by Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
The War Raiders had been out of action for at least the past several months. Erik had been on the shelf for close to a year after undergoing neck fusion surgery. Ivar remained on TV as a singles talent but he had been away since May due to a spinal injury.
It was expected that Ivar and Erik would return as the War Raiders after a tease on the September 23 episode of Raw featured Elder Futhark runes that spelt out “war.”
After wrestling as War Machine for the likes of ROH and NJPW, the tag team was repackaged as the War Raiders in WWE NXT. Upon moving to the main roster, though, Vince McMahon changed their name to the Viking Experience and then the Viking Raiders.
