John Wenham has piled praise on Tottenham-linked forward Viktor Gyokeres.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes that the Sporting Lisbon number nine would be “an exciting signing.”
It comes after reliable Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe revealed via X (13 May) that Gyokeres is on a list of strikers that Tottenham are considering making a move for.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the 25-year-old has plenty to offer.
“Gyokeres at Sporting Lisbon is a very interesting link,” Wenham said.
“He had the experience in England with Coventry City, where he was very impressive.
“His overall game is good. He is big and strong, he can play on the ball and his finishing is ridiculously good.”
“That would be an exciting signing.”
Viktor Gyokeres can take Tottenham to the next level under Ange Postecoglou
One of the main things Spurs were missing last season was a consistent number nine.
Son Heung-min isn’t a natural striker and Richarlison couldn’t always be relied upon.
Gyokeres on the other hand is a player who Spurs could certainly count on.
The Sweden international scored 43 goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions last season.
If he were to make a move to North London, he could take Ange Postecoglou’s side to the next level.

Tottenham Hotspur are willing to trigger Eberechi Eze’s release clause, but they’ll have to overcome a huge stumbling block in their bid to sign him this summer.
According to The Sun, Premier League champions Manchester City are also willing to trigger the playmaker’s clause, which complicates Tottenham’s chances of signing him.
Eze was a standout performer for Crystal Palace last season, forming a highly effective attacking trio alongside Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Palace have already lost Olise to Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich and would ideally prefer to keep Eze for at least one more season.
However, they’ll be powerless to stop his exit if one of the top clubs triggers his release clause, and Tottenham and Man City are now circling with keen interest.
Spurs are determined to bolster their attacking options this summer after narrowly missing out on Champions League football last season, and Eze is a key target.
Eze would be a game-changing signing for Spurs
The Wheels began to fall off for Ange Postecoglou’s side when key players like James Maddison picked up injuries.
Considering the England international is Tottenham’s primary creator, it’s unsurprising that his absence exposed the team’s lack of depth in the creative midfield department.
Adding a dynamic playmaker like Eze would ease the creative burden on Maddison and help Spurs bridge the gap on the Premier League’s elite.
Eze was in phenomenal form for Palace last term, notching 11 goals and four assists in 27 Premier League games.
He also created seven big chances and averaged 2.0 key passes per match. He is of the calibre of players Tottenham need to bolster their chances of competing for silverware.
In addition to his impressive numbers, Eze’s nimble footwork and ability to glide past defenders effortlessly makes him a constant threat in the final third.
While going head to head with Man City is a daunting prospect, especially without Champions League football as a cushion, Spurs must pull out all the stops to lure the exciting forward to north London.
