It didn’t prove to be a Super Sunday for Nottingham Forest as Newcastle defeated the Reds at the City Ground.

Forest were third going into the game against the Magpies and despite taking the lead, it wasn’t meant to be.
Nuno Espirito Santo hailed Murillo for his first goal for Forest which gave the Reds a half-time advantage over Newcastle.

Eddie Howe’s men roared back in the second half, however, to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League.

All is not lost for Forest though and Nicolas Dominguez said afterwards that the dressing room isn’t too down after the defeat.
There were some moments in the game that might have gone Forest’s way on another day but ultimately, the Reds have to take this one on the chin.
A big flashpoint came in the first half when Tino Livramento went down under a challenge from Ryan Yates.

The game carried on and Forest ended up winning a free-kick of their own when Morgan Gibbs-White was fouled by Dan Burn.
However, a former Premier League match official believes that Forest got away with one massively.

“I was surprised Anthony Taylor did not recognise the intensity of the challenge from the Forest midfielders.
Play continued but Newcastle should have received a free-kick and Yates a yellow card when Livramento was left bleeding from the mouth.

“Yates was leading with the arm so I don’t believe it fell into the category of a red-card offence.

“The VAR official, Tim Robinson, would have looked at the incident but he cleared it.

“Robinson would have intervened only if he deemed the challenge was violent conduct and worthy of a red card.
The flashpoint proved costly for Eddie Howe’s men because Dan Burn took instant retribution.

“He hauled down Morgan Gibbs-White on the half-way line and collected his fifth yellow of the season and a one-match ban.

“Yates was later cautioned but he escaped a dismissal owing to Taylor’s leniency.”
