UNBELIEVABLE TOTTENHAM STAR PLAYER SET TO LEAVE CLUB FOR NOT GIVING FRESH CONTRACT TERMS AFTER RECENT UPDATE

Tottenham backed to offer Son Heung-min fresh two-year contract after recent update

Bryan King has backed Tottenham to offer Son Heung-min a fresh two-year deal with the club.

The ex-Spurs scout thinks the club should be asking the South Korean forward if he would like to finish his career in North London.

As reported by the Telegraph (4 November), Tottenham plan to trigger a one-year option in Son’s contract.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Spurs should be thinking beyond that.

“I think Spurs should be asking Son if he wants to finish his career with the club,” King said.

Here is a brand-new two-year deal, and if the one year goes well, we take up the second year or if you want to go, we release you.

There are a lot of Korean supporters that come over for Spurs’ matches, which will be very lucrative. Therefore, keeping him around for as long as possible makes a lot of sense.”

As of now, Son’s contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season. However, once they trigger the one-year option in his deal signed in 2021, it will keep him with the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Anything beyond that would have to be agreed upon between the player and the club. However, it would certainly make sense for Spurs to try and keep Son around for as long as possible.

With the amount of supporters that come from South Korea to watch him in action and buy his shirt, Son’s presence is a huge boost for the club’s finances and Daniel Levy.

In addition, despite some recent issues, he remains one of their most important players on the pitch too.

Therefore, Ange Postecoglou would no doubt like to have Son in the dressing room for as long as possible.
