Ange Postecoglou issues hilarious six-word message to Yves Bissouma after his goal for Tottenham vs QPR
Tottenham Hotspur continued their winning start to the summer on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers.
It was another strong showing from Ange Postecoglou‘s men who were able to find the back of the net each side of the half.
Yves Bissouma opened the scoring with a sensational goal which he worked well with Dejan Kulusevski.
And then young striker Dane Scarlett capped off the afternoon’s work at Loftus Road by slotting home from a Mikey Moore cross.
In the wake of the game, Postecoglou shared a hilarious interaction with the Mali midfielder which shows the high spirits currently surrounding the club
What Ange Postecoglou said to Yves Bissouma
Despite having been at the club for two years now, the goal against QPR was the first Bissouma has scored for Spurs.
The 27-year-old has played 56 times for the north London side since joining from Brighton but has not registered a single goal or assist.
He has, however, picked up 15 yellow cards and two red cards during his time as a Spurs player with last season’s form tailing off on the back of his dismissal away to Luton Town.
But the Mali international seemed to be in high spirit after finding the back of the net on Saturday and so was his manager.
Speaking after the game to the club’s media channel, Bissouma spoke of his delight to find the back of the net.
But Postecoglou butted in as he walked past the midfielder being interviewed as he jokingly said: “It was only a friendly, Biss.”
In his own interview, Postecoglou added to his comment he made to the 27-year-old: “But it is only a friendly, so I want to see him do it in a game,” the Australian said.
Yves Bissouma nailing down his spot in pre-season
After a frustrating campaign for the midfielder, Bissouma has returned looking like he is in a good place at the club.
Bissouma has now started the two opening friendlies despite changes being made for the game against QPR on Saturday around him.
And he will have done his hopes of being in Postecoglou’s midfield three no harm whatsoever after scoring that stunning goal against the Championship side.
But it is clear his manager is wanting to see him take this form into the Premier League season…
