After a second international break, Nottingham Forest will finally be back on the pitch in the coming days to face Crystal Palace.
The Reds went into the break on the back of a very entertaining 1-1 draw against Chelsea and have 10 points from seven games.
Forest were indebted to Matz Sels last time out and Joe Hart said he preserved a point for the Reds during that clash.
Sels had to pull out of the international call-up he received from his country but he does have a small chance of playing on Monday night.
Nuno Espirito Santo does have a couple of issues to contend with going into the game against Palace on Monday Night Football
James Ward-Prowse will miss out through suspension after his red card against Chelsea, whilst Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare are long-term casualties.
Now, a clue has been given about another star player – and it might not be good news for Forest.
One worrying aspect of the Chelsea draw was that Gibbs-White hobbled off after twisting his ankle pretty badly.
The player withdrew from England duty because of the injury and it remains to be seen if he’s going to be fit for action.
On Wednesday, Gibbs-White was spotted on Instagram wearing a protective boot and on crutches, although the post was deleted by his partner.
Now, the club’s media team have upset the fan base by sharing images from this week’s training – but there is no sign of Gibbs-White.
This could of course be tactical but Forest fans will be hoping and praying for positive news from the press conference which will take place tomorrow.
The Reds need to transform their fortunes on home soil and not having Gibbs-White available would represent a huge blow.
However, the squad is stronger this year than it has been in the other two years back in the Premier League and there are options now.
Palace are struggling without a win so far this season and perhaps Forest will hope they can have enough to get through the game unscathed.
Gibbs-White will be gutted that he was forced to miss England duty and with Lee Carsley looking at a number of players, it might be a missed opportunity.
The 24-year-old is firmly Forest’s most important player and hopefully, he’s back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
