Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White was injured at Chelsea on Sunday and in rare circumstances, he was forced off the field.
The England international has largely avoided injuries since signing for Forest in 2022 but was in some discomfort at the weekend.
Gibbs-White has received some good news since the weekend and could be fit to face Crystal Palace after the international break.
However, Forest now have more injury problems and Nuno Espirito Santo is going to be an extremely anxious man over the next couple of days.
Forest have made a solid start to 2024/5 and Sam Matterface has already changed his mind about the Reds.
Nottingham Forest have another injury scare after Chelsea draw
Ally McCoist raved about Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels on Sunday as the two goalkeepers took centre stage at Stamford Bridge.
His performance was comfortably his best in a Forest shirt but now he looks to have picked up a problem.
Belgian Red Devils shared on X: “Due to a problem with the adductor, Matz Sels is being replaced in the Belgium squad by Ortwin De Wolf. Speedy recovery, Matz.”
Sels is firmly established as the club’s number one goalkeeper and the hope will be that he can be fit enough to take his place in goal against Crystal Palace next time out.Carlos Miguel looks like a capable Forest goalkeeper
If the Reds do have to leave Sels out against Palace, Brazilian stopper Miguel looks like a capable understudy to come into the ranks.
He was involved in the Carabao Cup game against Newcastle back in August and actually played pretty well.
Although Miguel conceded after just 18 seconds, he dusted himself off to make some impressive stops in the 90 minutes and then save a penalty in the shootout. The key to every successful Premier League club is that two solid goalkeepers are in place.
Forest have struggled to do that to a certain extent since a return to the Premier League but there is hope this season that the club has cracked that with Sels and Miguel.
Sels will now hope to recover well. After playing so brilliantly against Chelsea, this will be a setback for the player.
All isn’t lost though and Miguel will definitely be rested up and ready to go if the Belgian doesn’t make the Palace contest.
