West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta appears to be on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Now if true, that really is a big shock – Lucas Paqueta has hardly been great for West Ham this season has he.
The 27-year-old Hammers star has a lot going on right now, mostly off the pitch.
However, the Brazilian has been way off the pace on the field of play as well.
His struggles have hardly been surprising really, given the fact that he has been charged with four separate counts of potential betting breaches, and he faces a lifetime ban if found guilty.
Back in June, the former Lyon star opened up on the current situation he’s going through, when speaking to reporters at a press conference whilst away with the Brazil national team:
This will be the first and only time I will speak about this matter. My lawyers have advised me not to comment on the matter.”
“What I can say is that I continue to do my best, cooperating. My lawyers defend me so that everything is clarified in the end.”
The La Liga side are the most successful team of all-time on the continent.
They have won an incredible 36 Spanish league titles and a remarkable 15 Champions League trophies.
They are held in really high esteem by players and fans the world over.
So it comes as somewhat of a surprise that they might want to sign one of our more inconsistent performers.
According to Bola Vip in Brazil, Lucas Paqueta could be a shock transfer target for Real Madrid either in January or next summer.
The rumours apparently started when Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga started sharing compilations of Paqueta in action via his social media accounts.
Whether or not Madrid make a move for Paqueta will obviously hinge on the outcome of his trial, with four separate charges currently levelled against him in relation to potential betting breaches.
If Madrid have put the feelers out, it would have been impossible for Paqueta’s head not to have been turned.
The Brazilian owes the Hammers – we have stood by him through thick and thin over the past 14 months.
