This week, Ange Postecoglou revealed some “glorious” news which he believes Tottenham fans will love. If it comes true, nobody can complain.

According to Ange Postecoglou himself, his current pragmatism does not concern him. In fact, he’s hinted that it’s part of the masterplan and behind closed doors, everybody at the club wants to win trophies.
In his own words, Postecoglou said: “As much as we crave success and we want success and we want to win things, no one greater than me, what comes first is the way we play.”

Postecoglou continued: “That means it’s not going to be an easy road… Along the way, we’re going to get tested and questioned.”
Finally, Postecoglou concluded with: “When success comes to this football club, and it will come, it will be glorious because it will be exactly the way the club wants it.”
Postecoglou’s response was, understandably, met with great applause from the crowd. Every Tottenham fan wants to see the club lift trophies, no matter how they win. If they don’t, they are not fans of the club.

Now, it is just a case of putting results together to sway those doubters. Any doubters of Tottenham in their current state can be forgiven, since the results on the board do not match up to Postecoglou’s plan to win trophies.
Tonight, Tottenham face Qarabag in the UEFA Europa League. It is a competition which could be of great importance to Tottenham and a genuine opportunity for silverware.
Otherwise, Tottenham could look to make progress in the EFL Cup (they are currently in the fourth round) or the FA Cup. With the Premier League title race shaping itself, Tottenham are better to focus on the other three competitions.

‘We’re not robots:’ Son Heung-min and Ange Postecoglou call for change to football schedule

Tottenham forward Son Heung-min has become the latest football star to publicly raise concerns over the number of games players are being asked to play.
The South Korea international said there was a “massive” risk of injury to players in the face of the demands being placed on them.
His comments came after Manchester City midfielder Rodri said last week that players were close to taking strike action.

You don’t want to see players struggling with injuries. No one wants to see it,” Son said.
“A lot of games, a lot of traveling. We’ve got to look after ourselves, which sometimes is very hard. Mentally, physically, you’re not ready.
“Then going on to the pitch and then the risk of injury is massive. We’re not robots. Don’t get me wrong, we love playing football. That’s clear.”
Rodri was injured during City’s Premier League game against Arsenal on Sunday when jostling with Thomas Partey in the box at a corner.
Son said he agreed with Rodri’s concerns.

“Rodri said the right things,” the Spurs star said.
“We play 50, 60 games and not more than 70 games. When the fixtures come, the players have to play. There’s a lot going on.”
Last week, City manager Pep Guardiola said it was up to players to force a change in the sport following the growing dispute over the congested schedule.
This year’s Champions League has been expanded with two more games in the new-look group stage, while next year’s expanded Club World Cup in the United States will be a 32-team event for the first time, up from seven.
The new Club World Cup format has prompted a legal challenge from players’ unions.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou said players may make a stand.

They may take things into their own hands,” he said.
“They’re the ones most affected to be honest, so you would understand if they started to think as a collective, how much are we going to have to continually not have a say in?
“I have spoken already about the fact we’re getting to a real dangerous level about what our expectations are around players.
“Instead of focusing on one or two tournaments, it’s about the calendar.
“That is more of an issue.”
