West Ham United suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss to Chelsea on Saturday in the Premier League.
It was a dreadful performance from the home team as they conceded two goals within the first 20 minutes of the game.
A defensive switch-off from the Hammers allowed Nicolas Jackson to cut inside the penalty area and fire past the goalkeeper in the fourth minute.
The young striker then doubled their lead with an excellent finish after being set up by Moises Caicedo.
The Irons showed some improvement after the second goal as they threatened to reduce the deficit.
The hosts should have got a penalty after Wesley Fofana’s grab on Crysencio Summerville. However, VAR looked at the incident and decided not to give a spot-kick.
Mohammed Kudus then had the ball in the net only to be flagged offside.
Any hopes of a West Ham comeback were extinguished after Cole Palmer netted the Blues’ third as they eased to a 3-0 victory at the London Stadium.
Carlos Soler, who was featured off the bench in the second-half, wasn’t happy with their performance but he has vowed to ‘correct their mistakes’ in the next match.
The 27-year-old midfielder posted the following message on his Instagram account: “Confident we’ll correct our mistakes to be a much better team, for sure. Heads up and let’s go for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup match! Thanks for your constant support. COYI!”
There was a lot of excitement among West Ham fans when Julen Lopetegui replaced David Moyes as manager this summer.
The Spaniard was expected to bring an attacking brand of football and improve the club’s fortunes.
However, despite heavy backing in the transfer window, the performances have been very disappointing so far.
The Hammers are currently 14th in the Premier League standings, having picked up just four points from five matches.

One suggested Brendan Rodgers would have been a better choice to replace Moyes in the summer and should the club’s board decide to cut the Spaniard loose, then the Parkhead boss’ name would no doubt come up after a blistering start to the to Scottish Premiership season and a five star Champions League bow against Slovan Bratislava. But former Hoops Hero and Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton insists Rodgers wouldn’t take the step down to West Ham on the 606 football phone-in.
Caller: “Another possible name that I think would have done a good job was Brendan Rodgers.
Sutton: “He’s at a huge club north of the border.”
Caller: “I think if the money was right he might have gone to West Ham.”
Sutton: “Oh come on. He wouldn’t want to downgrade to West Ham from Celtic.”
