TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR JUST ANNOUNCED THE DONE TRANSFER DEAL OF TEAM GREATEST ASSET AS HE SET TO JOIN CLUB

Tottenham Hotspur have finalised a deal with AC Milan for the transfer of Brazilian right-back Emerson Royal. The 25-year-old, who has been with Spurs since August 2021, leaves the Premier League side after making 101 appearances and scoring four goals during his tenure.

Emerson Royal initially joined Tottenham from Barcelona and made his debut in September 2021 during a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. His century milestone in appearances for Spurs was achieved in May 2024 when he featured against Liverpool at Anfield.

On an international level, Emerson has earned 10 caps for Brazil since making his senior debut in November 2019.

AC Milan confirmed the transfer stating Emerson has committed to a contract with the Italian giants until 30 June 2028, with an option for an additional year.

Emerson Royal began his football journey in his hometown of São Paulo, Brazil. He came through the youth ranks at Ponte Preta, making his first-team debut in February 2017. His early career also saw him play for Atlético Mineiro before moving to Europe with stints at Real Betis and Barcelona

The Argentine has been informed he is not part of Ange’s plans for the upcoming season, with the player now actively looking for a move away.

Lo Celso has struggled to make a significant mark at Spurs since joining the club. His time at the North London outfit has been marred by injuries and limited playing time, diminishing his impact on the field.

Last season, the Copa America winner made only four Premier League starts out of 22 appearances, contributing two goals and two assists.

With his contract approaching its final year, Spurs view the sale of Lo Celso as an opportunity to free up space and raise funds for new signings that better align with Postecoglou’s tactical vision.

He has been linked with several clubs, including a move back to Real Betis as well as a potential reunion with Unai Emery at Aston Villa.

In fact, it was recently reported that Spurs offered him as part of a player-plus-cash deal to for Jacob Ramsey but Villa rejected that offer.

However, they remain keen on signing him as confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano shared that Lo Celso’s absence from the squad against Bayern Munich was because he is expected to leave before the transfer window shuts. He named both Betis and Villa as two interested parties who are monitoring his situation.

Taking to X, he said:

“Giovani Lo Celso was not part of the Tottenham squad as he can still leave in the final 20 days. Real Betis and Aston Villa are interested and still keen with more clubs monitoring the situation.”
Whether the transfer takes place before the transfer window shuts remains to be seen but it is very likely that the midfielder will be sold this summer
