West Ham on verge of awesome partnership with Julen Lopetegui closing on incredible £33.5m star
West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui could well be on the verge of sealing a stunning deal for the club.
Julen Lopetegui replaced David Moyes earlier this summer, and he’s already made his presence known at West Ham.
The Hammers head coach is trying to implement some big changes when it comes to playing style, and he’s made some top-class signings as well.
His remit to get West Ham back inside the top six, and to bring through some of the club’s most talented young players.
In order to do that, Lopetegui will need to make at least four more high quality signings this summer.
The need for a new striker has been well-documented, and the same can be said for a left winger to replace the recently departed Said Benrahma.
However, it could actually be argued that the addition of another central defender should be Lopetegui’s main priority.
West Ham shipped a truly shocking 74 Premier League goals last season – a tally worsened only by the three relegated teams.
Max Kilman has already joined for around £40 million, and now the Hammers are seemingly keen to bring in the perfect partner for him.

The Hammers boss is clearly far from done with his summer business.
Numerous names are being linked with moves to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.
However, perhaps the most exciting of the lot is AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori.
West Ham are said to be the front- runners in the race to sign him this summer
Tomori actually admitted back in February 2021 that West Ham just missed out on signing him the previous summer
Tomori and Kilman would surely have to be one of the very best central defensive partnerships in the Premier League, if we do in fact manage to get a deal done for him.
Tomori has been one of the standout centre-backs in Serie A over the past three years or so.
The former Chelsea man is incredibly strong in the air, and possesses decent pace. He’s an intelligent defender and his positional awareness is absolutely spot on.
Football Italia have described him as ‘incredible’ and they’re not wrong.
Milan could demand around €40 million (£33.5 million) for the central defender, according to Sempre Milan.
That sounds like really good value to me, and if Julen Lopetegui brings Tomori to West Ham this summer, I can’t see too many attackers getting any change out of him and Kilman this season.
What an incredible partnership the duo would undoubtedly form for the Hammers, and having them both at the London Stadium would be a sign of our massive recent progress.
