Earlier this week, claims from the UK stated Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs to have set their sights on Palmeiras youngster Marcus Vinnicius.
This is relayed by PL Brasil, who then provide their own information on this case.
They has found out that Tottenham are one of the 17-year-old’s ‘interested parties’.
As well as the north London club, the British press said Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Benfica are said to be monitoring the young left-back.
This is backed up by PL Brasil, and they add Ange Postecoglou’s side are ahead of others in the race to sign the teenager.
Vinnicius is currently with Palmeiras U17s and he was part of the squad that recently won the Ecuador Youth Cup. His performances in this tournament seem to have attracted interest from other clubs, including those from Europe.
The report claims Vinnicius is happy at the Brazilian club, where he’s expected to sign his first professional contract in the next few days.
Palmeiras also want to retain Vinnicius and their plan is to only consider selling him to a European club in two to three years. This makes a potential deal complicated for Spurs despite being ahead of other clubs.
One talented Tottenham Hotspur player is on the verge of leaving the club.
Spurs have a lot to do in this window. They’ve already re-signed Timo Werner on another loan deal and have completed the permanent signing of Archie Gray.
To add to that, Tottenham have also allowed the likes of Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele to leave the club.

Troy Parrott is ‘on his way’ to undergo medical ahead of Tottenham exit
Troy Parrott joined Tottenham’s academy in the summer of 2017 from Belvedere FC.
The talented forward was viewed as a really exciting acquisition at the time. He played in multiple age groups at the club’s youth setup and impressed a lot.
There has been a lot of expectations that the 22-year-old would make it at Spurs. It was also claimed that Parrott wants to breakthrough at Tottenham next season.
However, that dream looks like it will not be fulfilled.
After a successful loan spell in the Netherlands at Excelsior in the 2023/24 season, where he scored 17 goals and provided five assists, Parrot has attracted interest from fellow Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Gold has now claimed that the forward is on his way to the AFAS Stadium to undergo a medical ahead of a move in the coming days.
Parrott, who is a ‘sensational‘ talent, had entered the final year of his contract at Tottenham already. With other hugely talented young players coming through, this move doesn’t come across as a big surprise.

Every academy player’s dream is to make it into the first team one day.
Parrott, who for years was hailed as the future of Tottenham, only managed to make four senior appearances for the club during his time there.
Towards the end of the 2023/24 season, after a number of fine performances on loan at Excelsior, Parrott publicly claimed that he’d love to play for Tottenham next season.
“I don’t know exactly what will happen. I still have two matches here and then perhaps international matches, but I am looking forward to next season,” Parrott said.
“I’ve always wanted that, ever since I came to the UK as a boy.”
That is now sad to see as Parrot has no future at Tottenham anymore. His dream to be a regular at the club is all but over.
