Micah Richards mocks ex-West Ham star with savage comment on live TV
Micah Richards was on punditry duty for CBS Sports’ coverage of the Champions League semi-final between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on Tuesday night
Micah Richard tore into former West Ham ace Nigel Reo-Coker on live TV.
The former Manchester city full-back was providing analysis on CBS Sports for the Champion League semi-final clash between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on Tuesday. He shared the panel with Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry , and Jamie Carragher
During one of the pre-match segments, the CBS Sports crew were joined virtually by Reo-Coker and ex-MLS star Charlie Davies. Reo-Coker, posed a question about why Zinedane zidane wasn’t being mentioned more often in conversations around managerial vacancies at Europe’s leading clubs.
However, instead of interacting with the TV while asking the question, Reo-Coker read from a piece of paper throughout, which did not go unnoticed by Richards, who questioned, generating fits of laughter from his co-hosts: “Why are you having to read it off of a piece of paper? Are you giving a quiz?”
Reo-Coker fired back with: “I’m looking at a screen. I can’t believe Micah’s going for me” His reply didn’t do much to stop Richards going on a 30-second-long roasting of the former footballer’s question – and his method of doing so – by mockingly asking the same question while using a notebook to hilariously read it off.
The 2012 Premiere League winner has been a breath of fresh air since becoming a regular on TV thanks to his bubbly personality as he previously opened up on his license to be himself during his CBS duties. “At CBS we have the license to show our personalities,” he told World Soccer Talk
“We trust each other on the serious and analytical stuff. When we have trust in a person. Sometimes we go back and forth. Some viewers think we’re mad at each other, but it’s just like two friends having an argument.
“Because we work together for Sky and CBS we have great chemistry. We understand each other. We know where the line is, but we can both be self-deprecating.
“If I say something to someone else they may take it to heart, but I know with him, he just rolls with the punches and knows where I am coming from.”
