Ange Postecoglou’s side are set for a third-round tie against the Clarets who are desperate for some positivity this campaign.

Vincent Kompany led his side to the Carabao Cup round of 16 and he will be looking to put together another run in the FA Cup.

Tottenham could be without Heung-min Son for six games as he captains South Korea in the Asia Cup over the next few weeks.

Son scored on his final appearance on New Year’s Eve before leaving to join up with his country.

The Spurs skipper will undoubtedly be a huge loss for Postecoglou for upcoming games and especially in the FA Cup.

He has been involved in 25 goals in just 28 appearances in the competition, scoring 14 and assisting 11.

But Son’s firepower will now be missing for Tottenham and they will have to find a solution.

Richarlison, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski will all have to step up and lead the line for Spurs before their main man returns.

Tottenham vs Burnley: What has been said?

Hugo Lloris is leaving Tottenham after his move to MLS side Los Angeles FC was officially announced in December.

The former Spurs captain made 447 appearances for the club and departs after spending 11 years in North London.

Manager Postecoglou has led the tributes to the goalkeeper, saying: “He will definitely go down as a legend at this club.

“Not just because of his appearances, but when you captain a big club like this for so long…

“I said before I don’t think my opinion on him is paramount here because my services are fairly minuscule compared to his but in the time I’ve worked with him he’s been an absolute professional and an absolute gentlemen. I can see why he was highly regarded.

“He was great to have in the group, great for Vic to share a dressing room with a World Cup winner and it is a credit to him for the way he has conducted himself.
