- Pedro Porro will find it tough to replace the injured James Maddison
- Manchester City’s main man Jeremy Doku is set to make Porro’s life difficult
- IAN LADYMAN: If Spurs go toe-to-toe with City, they’ll have their trousers pulled down – It’s All Kicking Off
First, Ange Postecoglou lost Harry Kane before a ball was kicked. Then, he lost his new main man James Maddison to injury. Now, he’s turned to a Spaniard flying down the wing.
Losing Maddison left Spurs needing a new way to create their chances. To do this, Postecoglou has passed the mantle to Pedro Porro. So instead of Maddison in the middle, it’s the bombing full-back on whom Spurs are depending in attack.
In the two games since Maddison’s injury, no Spurs player has created as many chances as Porro. He’s taking set-pieces now, too, and has played four times as many passes into the box as any other team-mate.
