I’m ready to say welcome to the £30m attacker in January, coach declare to make the young Boy as first target

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has reportedly set his sights on Al-Ittihad winger Jota.

According to TEAMtalk, the Spurs manager is “really keen” on signing the 24-year-old talent next year.

Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon are both on the sidelines, so the Tottenham left flank is somewhat light at present.

With that in mind, Jota would be a great shout for Spurs, especially since Postecoglou has worked with him before.

However, the TEAMtalk report claims that Tottenham may struggle to do a deal for the Portuguese prodigy in January.

From January, the number of foreign players allowed in any Saudi club’s matchday squad is set to be changed from six to 10.

This means Jota – who previously struggled for game time following his £26million summer move from Celtic – could be in line for a lot more game time.

Therefore, Al-Ittihad will be less inclined to sell the purported Tottenham target at the first possible opportunity, potentially waiting until the end of the season.

In terms of price tag, Spurs could have to pay around £30million for Jota next year if they want him, according to the report.

Can Tottenham sign ‘real entertainer’ in January?

Jota would be an incredibly exciting signing for Spurs. He has been labelled a ‘magician’ and a ‘real entertainer’, as per Football Talent Scout.

Meanwhile, Barry Ferguson described Jota as a “difference-maker“. And as per Speedsdb, he has also been clocked at a higher speed (31.7km/h) than Dejan Kulusevski (31.4km/h).

Jota remains popular amid Celtic fans after dazzling at Parkhead en route to silverware aplenty.

No doubt having Postecoglou at Tottenham makes the prospect of Jota joining more likely.
