Tottenham predicted team vs Chelsea: Udogie decision as Postecoglou makes Bentancur admission

Here’s the Tottenham Hotspur team we reckon Ange Postecoglou will select to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday night

Ange Postecoglou has a couple of key decisions to make as Tottenham welcome Mauricio Pochettino and his Chelsea side to N17 on Monday evening.

It is the first time the Argentine has returned to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since his exit in 2019 following five-and-a-half years at the helm of Spurs. He will face Postecoglou’s Tottenham and a team looking to return to the top of the Premier League table with a derby win.

All eyes will be the fitness of Destiny Udogie who missed the win at Crystal Palace through injury. Postecoglou said the young Italian was 50-50 to be ready for the game and Spurs’ other left-back, Ben Davies, is also currently struggling with an ankle problem. If Udogie misses out then the likelihood is that Emerson Royal will continue to deputise for both players on the left.

Postecoglou in his pre-match interview for the club website said that Rodrigo Bentancur, after his return against Palace, was like everyone else in the team in being ready to start but you would think the Australian will increase the Uruguayan’s minutes gradually over the coming weeks after eight months out of the game.

Postecoglou has other decisions to make and here’s the team we reckon he will select to face the Blues.
This might be more hope than expectation but it’s been two weeks since the Italian’s injury so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that he’s fit. If not, it’ll be Emerson on the left.
