“Very unfair”Ambrose want Dany levy to take the spur player out of Tottenham, can’t believe Darren Ambrose fire the spur player who lost his confidence

Darren Ambrose can’t understand why Richarlison has lost his confidence at Tottenham Hotspur.

Given that Richarlison is supposedly the number nine for Tottenham and Brazil, then Ambrose expects him to be in better form, as he told talkSPORT.
But, instead, he ‘isn’t producing’ for Tottenham and Ambrose fears that fans will start to turn on him.

After the 26-year-old’s big-money transfer last summer, he proceeded to score only one Premier League goal under Antonio Conte.

You could excuse the player for struggling under a manager who ended up getting sacked given Spurs’ decline, but no such excuses can be made under this table-topping and free-scoring team under Ange Postecoglou.

That’s why former Premier League midfielder and Tottenham-supporting pundit Ambrose is worried about what Richarlison is, or in this case, isn’t producing.

A negative is Richarlison,” said Ambrose. “I am backing him. I keep backing him. I am struggling to, at the moment.

“Because he is a Spurs player, I am backing him. He will come good and get chances, especially in this team. But he has had chances. He was Brazil’s number nine. Keeping Gabriel Jesus, when he was in full pomp at Arsenal, out of the team. He was their go-to player. But he just wasn’t doing it at Spurs.

“Last season, he didn’t get a true opportunity or a true run of games. But he hasn’t really this season, either. There are reasons for that because he isn’t producing – how can you have no confidence when you are playing for Spurs and you are a Brazil international? How have you got no confidence?

“You can see Ange trying to back him – I don’t know anymore. When he stops getting the chances, that’s when you have to worry. But you can’t keep getting the chances and keep missing because there comes a point, and it has happened, where you get dragged. Or you don’t play anymore. Yeah (on the crowd turning). Of course.”

Can Richarlison turn it around?

Ange Postecoglou was backed by the powers that be this summer and you would expect that will continue during these coming windows.

But given that Richarlison is the club’s record transfer, will they be willing to ditch the player if his off-colour form continues?

Of course, the former Everton man will get all season to prove his worth, but come next summer, if he is still in the same boat, then a call needs to be made.
