Trent Alexander-Arnold has clapped back at James Maddison’s social media post in hilarious fashion.
The Tottenham star couldn’t resist taking aim at Alexander-Arnold following the controversial clash between Spurs and Liverpool that saw a calamitous VAR call.
The Reds were controversially denied a goal with Luis Diaz being incorrectly called offside, leading to a media storm and the PGMOL having to release audioof VAR’s deliberations over the incident.
With Maddison and Alexander-Arnold reporting for England duty, the Tottenham midfielder took to social media with a light-hearted Instagram story that read: “Still asking for a replay,” with an image of the Liverpool man seemingly protesting.
But in the buildup to England’s international friendly with Australia, Alexander-Arnold got his own back when asked what the duo were actually discussing in the image.
Asked by Channel 4 if he was asking for a replay, Alexander-Arnold laughed: “Nah, he was asking me if I could teach him how to put a free-kick in the top corner.
“But, I told him, I just showed him the video of when I scored at Leicester last year and they got relegated.”
