“Sarcastic comment” James Maddison is going crazy on Peter schmeichel comment

James Maddison acted in a way that “really upset” Peter Schmeichel during his time at Leicester City.

Maddison spent five seasons at Leicester, scoring 55 goals in 203 appearances before joining Tottenham in a £40 million move this past summer. Now Peter Schmeichel, whose son Kasper played with Maddison at Leicester, has given his honest view on the 26-year-old midfielder
Schmeichel has warned Maddison “there are requirements” and there is no room for a “luxury player” at Tottenham. He also expressed concerns over Maddison’s antics that “really upset” him at Leicester.

I think Ange is the right manager,” Schmeichel told Premier League Productions. “He plays a style of football that really really suits Maddison. But there are requirements. You have to work hard. There is no luxury player in this team.

He became somebody you got a little bit cross with. He wasn’t really working for the team. On the floor all the time, diving. Stuff that really upset me, in terms of what he needed to do for the team.

“With this football club, which is bigger than Leicester… The manager and the requirements… I think he has got a much better chance to fulfil that enormous potential that he has.”
