NEWCASTLE FANS WERE BLOWN AWAY AFTER WHAT ARSENAL TOLD ANTHONY GORDON AFTER A FRESH UPDATE EMERGE ON THEIR SUMMER TRANSFER PLAN

Arsenal are expected to prioritise a new winger in the upcoming window, having failed to address that area in January

Arsenal fans were left frustrated at the board when no attacking reinforcements arrived during the winter, particularly after Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury exposed the lack of depth out wide

Gabriel Martinelli has struggled to impress and recapture his best form this season, while Leandro Trossard is entering the final year of his contract this summer, further highlighting the need for a new option on the flanks

With Gordon impressing for Newcastle and already proving himself in the Premier League, fans believe he could be the ideal addition after an update.

Arsenal monitoring Anthony Gordon amid Newcastle uncertainty

David Ornstein of The Athletic has reported that Newcastle winger Gordon is “on Arsenal’s radar” as the club looks to strengthen their attack in the upcoming transfer window.

Gordon was previously linked with a move to Liverpool last summer, but a deal never materialised and he went on to sign a new contract with Newcastle in October.

Despite that, Liverpool remain interested in Gordon, particularly with Luis Diaz’s future at Anfield uncertain, potentially opening up a space on the left wing.

The 24-year-old has had a standout season for the Magpies, notching nine goals and providing seven assists across 2,624 minutes in all competitions.

He impressed against Arsenal earlier in the campaign, scoring in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, and now it appears Mikel Arteta’s side are keen to bring him to the Emirates

Arsenal fans call for Anthony Gordon after attack struggles

With Raheem Sterling expected to return to Chelsea and uncertainty surrounding Trossard’s future, Arsenal are likely to prioritise an upgrade out wide.

Arsenal have also been linked with Leroy Sane, but a move for Gordon–although potentially expensive– would bring a player already proven in the Premier League and showing clear signs of growth and consistency since joining Newcastle.

Excitement has already begun building among Arsenal fans, with many calling for the England international to be signed. One supporter wrote, “Would be a perfect signing for us” while another said: “I’d bin Martinelli for him. He’s that good and a typical Arteta player.”
