Tottenham New star slammed as Barcelona replacement found amid Ange Postecoglou comments

Tottenham striker Richarlison has faced calls to be dropped from the Brazil national team despite ending his run of games without a goal. It was his powerful header that sparked the dramatic late comeback against Everton, halting what had been a 14-match barren run for club and country.

Richarlison, who has come under immense scrutiny for his poor returns since signing for Spurs last summer, opened up on issues in his personal life whilst away on international duty last week and was widely applauded for his public recognition of mental struggles

On the field, I’m a happy team player, I try to help as much as possible,” the 26-year-old told Brazilian outlet Globo. “Sometimes, things don’t go the way we want. I think this part is a bit of the off-field side that ended up getting in my way. Even though you want to do things right, it ends up going wrong. I will continue to focus on the club, the storm has passed.”

He added: “I went through a turbulent time in the last five months off the field. Now things are right at home. People who only had an eye on my money walked away from me. Now things will start to flow, I’m sure I’ll get a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again.

I’m going to go back to England and will seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to work on my mind. That’s it, come back stronger. It’s about getting a good streak at Tottenham, this week I’m going to sit down and talk to them, I need a good streak, get the rhythm of the game and get here well.”

However, in light of this and his return to the scoresheet, Catalan-based newspaper Sport have slammed the forward for not only his lack of production for the national team but also the impact of that on Barcelona youngster Vitor Roque. The forward joined Xavi’s side in the summer and arrives as one of the most promising players in his position alongside Endrick and Antonio Nusa.
