‘COME ON SPURS FANS’: JAMES MADDISON NOW DYING FOR TOTTENHAM SUPPORTERS TO DO ONE THING

Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder James Maddison is hoping that supporters of the north London club will come up with a chant for him.

James Maddison joined Tottenham from Leicester City earlier this summer and has already made an impact under Ange Postecoglou, so it may not be long before he gets his wish.

“No matter how many times you’re involved in football and how long you’ve been in the game, every single time you hear your name chanted and sung it’s a heart-warming feeling that you can’t really describe,” the 26-year-old said in Tottenham’s recent matchday programme. “So come on Spurs fans!”

Maddison came up with two assists on his debut against Brentford last Sunday and Postecoglou will be hoping for more of the same when his side take on Manchester United tomorrow.

The Englishman’s contribution was not enough, though, with Spurs going on to draw the game 2-2.

James Maddison could be key against Manchester United

Maddison is one player Postecoglou will definitely be looking to when Tottenham welcome United.

As he showed at the Gtech Community Stadium, the England international makes things happen. If he shows up on the day, Spurs have a good chance of getting a positive result.

Postecoglou will also be praying that Richarlison can deliver. Following Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich, the 26-year-old could become the team’s first-choice striker this term.

If that does happen, then he needs to start scoring if Tottenham are to have any hope of finishing in the top four.

He disappointed in front of goal last season, finding the back of the net just once in 27 Premier League appearances.

If Richarlison can score against Erik ten Hag’s men, though, and help guide his side to all three points, then Tottenham supporters will probably forget about that.

With Kane now gone, the Brazil international, Maddison, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski all need to produce.
