Daniel Levy is still on the hunt for Tottenham’s next permanent manager as their season draws to a disappointing close.
Joining Nagelsmann on Levy’s reported managerial shortlist is former Spain boss Luis Enrique and Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim. Outgoing Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner, who has also been linked, will be available as a free agent at the end of the campaign.
However, Nagelsmann’s pedigree and potential to oversee a long-term project in north London has left many to conclude that he must top Levy’s wish list. The 35-year-old won the Bundesliga title in his only full season at Bayern Munich, although he was sacked less than a year later.
Nagelsmann therefore has leverage in negotiations with Tottenham, and The Daily Mail claim that his final decision regarding the vacancy could come down to two things.
Firstly, Nagelsmann is holding out for the appointment of a favourable sporting director. Fabio Paratici was forced out of his post at Spurs this campaign after FIFA extended his 30-month ban to worldwide football-related activities.
